Taiwan Taipei Takes 15th place in World’s Super-rich ranking

Taipei is home to the 15th-highest number of super-rich people in the world, according to a report released by UK-based property market advisory firm Knight Frank.Knight Frank compiled data on so-called ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWIs) which focused on the number of people with more than US$30 million in net assets in a city.

The rankings also revealed these super-wealthy people’s business links, economic activities and lifestyles. The advisory firm said that the cities in the rankings were places where the wealthy congregate, work, invest, are educated and spend their leisure time.‘dramatic’ growth Knight Frank said that individual wealth and the number of wealthy people in Asia would continue to see “dramatic” growth, adding that over the next 10 years, cities in the region will see a 91 percent increase in their UHNWI populations on average.

Three Asian cities took top spots on Knight Frank’s super-rich city list. Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai ranked third, fouth and fifth, only trailing London, in first place, and New York in second. Miami was sixth, followed by Paris, Dubai, Beijing and Zurich, the report showed.

Tokyo took the 11th position ahead of Toronto, Geneva, Sydney, Taipei and Frankfurt, Moscow, Madrid, San Francisco and Vienna, the rankings indicated. Over the next decade, Vietnam is predicted to have the fastest growing amount of UHNIs in the world.
